Preparing the individual ingredients is not very complicated, as you only need to cut up a few things, such as different types of vegetables, meat and fruit, and put them in bowls. Once the individual ingredients are ready, everyone can decide individually which ones to combine in their pan. Raclette is also very popular because it can be used by meat or fish eaters, as well as vegetarians or even vegans.

Many foods that are in the fridge at home can be used, so you don't necessarily have to buy them. For example, you can combine a pan with corn, kidney beans and pork, covered with raclette cheese. The "Hawaiian pan" is also a popular choice, in which you put pieces of pineapple, cooked ham, or optionally chicken and of course the hearty raclette cheese on top. Some ingredients taste even better when they are cooked or fried on top, on the stone or grill plate.

For example, small meatballs can be made from minced pork or beef, which taste like meatballs when seasoned accordingly. Bacon cut into strips can also be fried on top of the grill until crispy, either to be eaten as is or to be put in a pan afterwards. If you like scrambled eggs, you'll also get your money's worth with raclette. All you have to do is put a few eggs in a bowl beforehand, which is then placed on the table with the other ingredients. Now, use a spoon to put some egg into a small pan and then season it with a little pepper and salt, just like the scrambled eggs themselves. However, care should be taken not to fill the pan too full, as the egg will swell when heated.

Raclette for vegetarians

Most of the recipes described above are combined with meat. But this does not necessarily have to be used, as there are enough plant-based ingredients available for a vegetarian raclette. For example, peppers can be combined with cauliflower. Potatoes are also a popular ingredient in raclette, as they can easily be combined with a variety of other ingredients. Examples of this are asparagus or spring onions, or alternatively all three together, creating a kind of mini potato casserole in the raclette pan.

Various fruits can also be used, such as tangerines, apples or the above-mentioned pineapple. In addition, various types of mushrooms, such as button mushrooms or chanterelles, can be used to make a delicious mushroom pan, combined with onions or tomatoes, for example. Toast can also be used for this versatile meal. This can be roasted on top of the grill plate and baked with cheese. Just like potatoes, pasta can also be easily integrated into a pan. Almost all conventional types of pasta can be used for this.

The dip must not be missing

To give the delicious pans that special something, the right sauce or dip must be ready. You can use either products from the supermarket, such as barbecue sauces, or homemade versions. A homemade garlic and herb dip is often used, as it tastes good with almost all combinations of pans.
