The outputs of the milk channels are star-shaped on the nipple. When the mammary gland produces breast milk during pregnancy, the breast lobes pump the milk into the canals to the nipple.

The nipple (nipple) and the areola (areola) are significantly darker pigmented than the skin of the breast. The colors of the pigmentation range from pink to brown, depending on age and cultural descent. The nipple and areola are traversed by many small muscles and are sensitive to mechanical stimuli such as a child's mouth. The muscles contract, the nipple straightens and emerges clearly from the areola. This erection provides better milk flow and facilitates feeding to the infant.

Around the areola (areola) around sebaceous glands (Montgomerydrüsen) are arranged, the secretion moisturizes the sensitive skin area and keeps it supple, in order to avoid over-stimulation.

Can size and shape be influenced?

The declining strength of the connective tissue is decisive for this. The weight of the breast, possible nicotine consumption, the age and the body mass index of the woman are mainly responsible for the change in breast shape. With a moderate, calorie-conscious diet and a healthy lifestyle, the connective tissue remains firm for a long time and the breasts in shape.
