“Oh, my god, tomorrow is the most exciting day of my life ... again. Like every year when it's my birthday. "
Many parents probably hear this at least once a year if they only have one child. If you have more than one child, you may hear this sentence more often. Be that as it may, it will be the most exciting day of your life.
It doesn't get any easier with the years
There will be gifts, either what they want or what they did not want. In the best case scenario, there will still be shining eyes because they did not expect it.
I can still remember well when I was a school child. I wanted a bike. My parents only said: "You can wish a lot, whether we will fulfill your wishes is an open question."
I had a great childhood, but my parents weren't really rich and as a kid I had no idea what a bike would cost.
In any case, my ideas seem to have been utopian, because I expressed my wish, but actually thought from the outset that I would never get a bike. After all, there were also smaller requests on my wish list.
My eyes were all the bigger when I came into the living room on the morning of my birthday and there was a bicycle. A red folding bike! I was incredibly happy and my parents must have seen the glow in my eyes and were just as happy.
Today, however, parents are probably wondering what kind of console game they should get this year. We live in a time when kids much prefer to sit in front of the console than, for example, cycle around the area. Board games no longer seem to be traded as favorites for wish lists either. Here, good advice is indeed expensive ... as are most wishes.
Personally, I still tend to play a cool board game. The whole family can sit down together at the table on a nice evening and - depending on the age of the child - don't get angry, play Monopoly or similar games. That would be a reason for me to definitely give away a board game.
Because the experience with my children has taught me that children are often very happy when they can spend time with their parents. When I look into the world today, it doesn't really seem to have changed.
And time, yes, dear parents, you could also spend it with the kids and color in our coloring pages. Whichever you choose, have fun with your kids and the most exciting day of life.
